2024 REPORT

The 11th edition of the forum dedicated to African cybersecurity decision-makers was held on May 13, 14, 15 and 16 at the Palmeraie Rotana Resort in Marrakech (Morocco).
The programme includes 4 days of professional exchanges, rich in projects and convivial moments.
This year’s event was attended by 700 participants including 428 guests (CIOs/CISOs), as well as
55 partners and Cybersecurity publishers.

SESSIONS #SIT24

Inaugural Conference

The inaugural conference at 5pm on 13 May was an opportunity to bring together all the participants. As it does every year, this conference took stock of cybersecurity in Africa, its challenges and future prospects..
Four renowned experts took the floor: Jérémy Dubourg, co-founder of D&A TRUST, presented a study conducted by his firm on cyber maturity in Africa, offering valuable insights into the state of cybersecurity on the continent.
Ali El Azzouzi, Chairman of DATAPROTECT, highlighted the paradigm shift from digital sovereignty to cyber resilience, pointing out the importance of adopting robust strategies to ensure digital security.
Bechir Sebai, CEO of ACG Cybersecurity, discussed the notion of digital sovereignty and the importance of artificial intelligence in operational security solutions (SOC), highlighting the technological advances needed to protect critical infrastructures.
The inaugural conference was closed by the eminent Clément Domingo, alias SaaX, ethical hacker and influential figure in the field of cybersecurity.
Known for his skills in ethical hacking, his speech captivated the audience.
He emphasised the crucial need to take account of the threats facing Africa, stressing the significant risks to which businesses on the continent are exposed.
SaaX also highlighted the importance of training and sharing experiences to better prepare for these challenges.

18 sessions of workshops and expert conferences were presented by our publisher partners, giving our guests the opportunity to discover best practices and new use case solutions in the field of cybersecurity.

Meetings & Networking

SIT Africa recorded over 3,000 meetings. These enabled CIOs and CISOs to meet the best experts for their projects. More than 12,000 relationships were forged at the heart of our event, and through the XCOM Connect BtoB platform, 4,200 badges were scanned between 14 and 15 May 2024, a figure that underlines the importance of these contacts. The average score given for the quality of meetings was 4,6 out of 5.75% of meetings received a score of 5 out of 5.

Activities and Highlights.

In addition to the meetings, lunches and networking evenings were organised, as well as a range of events. These activities, which brought together partners and guests, were real moments of relaxation that encouraged exchanges in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The Africa CTF was an ethical hacking competition that brought together the best cybersecurity talent from across Africa, providing a unique opportunity to showcase skills, encourage knowledge sharing and promote excellence in cybersecurity.

This 11th edition of the SIT Africa Forum welcomed +428 CIOs (42%), CISOs (33%) and IT Managers (22%) whose sectors of activity were: Government & Ministries (30%), Banking & Insurance (27%), Manufacturing (25%), Services (8%), IT & Telecoms (7%) 70% from the private sector and 30% from the public sector.

SIT AWARDS 2024

This year, the SIT Forum organised the SIT AWARDS to reward the most involved guests. 3 prestigious prizes were up for grabs: a 2-night stay at the Palais Namaskar + a hot-air balloon flight, an Omega x Swatch watch and an Echo Pop connected speaker. The 3rd prize was awarded to Mr Amgid BROUHID, Director of Infrastructure at LPEE, the 2nd prize to Mr Fayçal OUOBA, RSSI at SII SERVICES, and the GRAND WINNER was Mr Anicet Koffi KRA RSSI from MANSA BANK Other prizes were also won by drawing lots.
