The 9th edition of the forum dedicated to African cybersecurity decision makers was held on May 17, 18, 19 and 20, at the Palmeraie Rotana Resort in Marrakech (Morocco).

The program: 4 days punctuated by professional exchanges rich in projects. An unprecedented experience that brought together the major players in cybersecurity in an exceptional and friendly setting.

The event welcomedmore than 650 participants, including 350 guests (CIOs/ISPs), as well as 64 partners, operators, manufacturers and publishers specializing in the field of IS and network security.

HIGHLIGHT #SIT22

Birth of the African Cyber Security Alliance

This edition saw the official launch of the African Cyber Security Alliance. This initiative of the Republic of Congo was materialized on May 19, 2022, by the Marrakech Declaration with all signatories. This Alliance aims to bring together African CIO clubs, in order to create a network of collaboration and exchange around cybersecurity best practices.

🤝 2023 will be an opportunity to review the progress of the creation of this community.

Inaugural Conference and Round Table

The SIT Africa Forum 2022 was privileged to receive Mr. Eric Armel NDOUMBA, advisor to the Minister of the Republic of Congo, as a guest of honor during the welcoming speech and the inaugural conference.

This intervention was followed by a round table organized in collaboration with the Cabinet DELOITTE on digital trust in Africa and the stakes in front of the cyber risks dans un écosystème technologique de plus en plus complexe face à la digitalisation accélérée depuis la crise sanitaire.

Expert Conferences and Workshops

Finally, the 22 sessions of workshops and expert conferences, presented by our partner editors, were an opportunity for our guests to discover best practices and new use case solutions in cybersecurity.

All conferences and workshops have been filmed and are available on our XCOM CONNECT platform until May 31. This platform will also allow to continue to exchange online between the different participants.

MEETINGS #SIT22

Business meetings.

The event registered +3000 appointments. These meetings allowed CIOs and CISOs to meet the best experts likely to respond to their projects.

+7,258 relationships were created at the heart of our event through the BtoB platform XCOM CONNECT. +2400 badges scanned between May 18 and 19, 2022, which highlights the importance of these connections.

The average rating for appointment quality is 4.5 out of 5.

MEETINGS #SIT22

Networking and Highlights.

In addition to the meetings, lunches and networking evenings were organized as well as various activities (go-kart race, golf). These activities, mixing partners and guests, were real moments of relaxation that allowed to promote exchanges in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Profile of CIO/CIO guests

This 9th edition of the SIT Africa Forum welcomed +350 CIOs (42%), CISOs (33%) and IT Managers (22%) whose sectors of activity were: Administrations & Ministries (30%), Banks & Insurance (27%), Industries (25%), Services (8%), IT & Telecom (7%) and Others (3%) 70% from the private sector and 30% from the public sector.

15 African countries were present at the SIT Africa Forum 2022 (70%: North African countries, 30% other African countries).
